It will be used throughout the city of Las Vegas on all new signs, work wear, vehicles, online and digital media as well as in all collateral and promotional materials to market the city. And she manages to change our luck!

Considering the fact we started the day very hungover, had a stressed morning after almost missing our flights, had had a huge night out in LA the night before, and had only been in the US less than 48 hours after arriving from Australia; we surprised ourselves managing to stay up til 3: Cheers to a great first night in Vegas! Unsurprisingly - given the consecutive big nights - we struggle to get up much before midday.

Are we getting too old for our crazy Vegas ways? We decide to head over to the outlets for some shopping. Despite the Aussie dollar not being particularly strong against the USD, there are still great deals to be found at the outlets. This trip was all Uber - I highly recommend!

Woohoo, this is my favourite place to shop and the stores we have in Australia have practically no stock and are hugely over-priced, so this was perfect timing. Hubby was extremely patient and it turned out that his methodical style of shopping made me spend more money than I would have otherwise hahaha.

I typically wander around the store in a haphazard fashion flitting from one lacy thing to the next - whatever catches my eye - whereas hubby kept redirecting me to the sections I had missed, which in turn meant I found more and more items to buy! We grab some more supplies at Walgreens and wander back to the room. Again we take our time getting ready, enjoying some drinks on the balcony. Hubby ordered a beer and I ordered a cocktail - it was a cucumber jalepeno margarita concoction, but turned out they had run out of jalepenos so she tried a makeshift option with some other spices and it was actually really delicious!

You can add in sausage or potatoes or corn cobs - all great additions - and then you rip open the bags and eat with your fingers no plates or cutlery - generally making a huge mess. DO wear the bib and gloves, unless you want to walk away smelling like seafood and wearing half your meal! And a side of cajun fries. Again not fine dining by any stretch but tasty and fun meal. Meal over and we wandered back to Cosmo with full bellies.

We relaxed with a few more drinks in the room for a bit before wandering down to try our luck again at blackjack. It was pretty quiet - it was Monday after all - but we found some fun tables where we managed to make our money last for a little while.

There were a jewellery convention in town, and we kept finding ourselves at tables with jewellery salespeople, traders, antique jewellers, and store owners.

Some fascinating conversations about rare gemstones, jewellery restoration and the convention - which turned out to be more of a trade fair than a traditional convention. Made me think our corporate jobs back home seemed very dull compared to this world of jewels and gems! We managed to stay about even over the night, and sensibly were in bed at the very civilised hour of 2am. Another great day in our favourite place: We felt much fresher this morning and enjoyed some coffees and croissants from Va Benne on our balcony while soaking in the morning air.

In N Out burger seems to have this cult status, and so many people I know have travelled far out of their way to get In N Out. We did try this last trip in LA , but it was very late at night, we had been drinking A LOT, and neither of us can really remember it properly - so today was to be the day to revisit In N Out. We arrived around midday-1pm, and it was packed. They have a pretty efficient operation in churning out burgers, and must see a lot of people pass through over the day.

We both agreed that it is a tasty fast food burger, but nothing so deserving of its cult status. And definitely in the category of fast food Wendys, Dennys, McDonalds etc - not comparable to a restaurant-style burger joint. Tasty, but not worth a trip out of our way. We then wandered up to Fashion Show mall. It was probably the hottest day of our trip at around degrees, so a very warm walk in the beaming afternoon sun.

A new Sugar Factory has opened up on the terrace of Fashion Show, with a cute-as-candy display and carousel, though it was empty at the time. Brilliant tapas in a cool and funky environment - I love the colour scheme of red, orange, yellow, purple, and the bright decor.

We wander over through Crystal Mall and check out the lobby display at Aria - it features coloured vintage-style bicycles suspended in the air - pretty cool and very random who comes up with these ideas? I took a few pics and then we head over to the restaurant for my most anticipated meal.

Back to Cosmo along the overhead bridge from Crystal Mall and in our slightly tipsy state from the large carafe of Sangria we giggle at the funny quotes on the Cosmo neon signs. I love the quirkiness of Cosmo. Unless you can be a unicorn.

We find a fun table in the area near Bond, with some guys that are a bit tipsy too, and engage in some funny conversation and friendly banter. Nevertheless we now have a slot ticket TITO I think is the technical term we can use and see how long we can get it to last.

We had some great luck on it during our first trip, saving what was a really poor gambling trip from devastation into about even money, but since then it has typically destroyed us in quick fashion.

Basically we either do very well and very poorly. We sit at a table and there are two guys up the other end. This is a good sign, great start! We keep going and over the next little while keep building the stack up meanwhile the guy is still convinced this table is terrible, despite our evidence otherwise.

He and his mate are friendly and fun nonetheless, and the dealers we have are great, and drink service is speedy! Hubby sticks to scotch but I branch out to espresso martinis - so yummy! Crawl up to bed at 3: Despite feeling pretty hungover this morning we did drink a lot the night before! I wake up with that Vegas-happy feeling of having had a good night, and knowing that we have more fun times ahead. I let hubby sleep a bit longer and grab some supplies at Walgreens and our hangover-cure meal at McDonalds: Lo show that evening: We get back to Cosmo after 5pm and go through our normal evening snack, drink, shower, relax routine.

We are a little short on time and decide to have dinner at Planet Hollywood - as J. We got a nice cosy booth and order beer hubby and a margarita me - which was HUGE! The food was what we expected from a mid-range Mexican place - generous serves and yummy flavours, but nothing to write home about.

The fajitas were a highlight, as was my margarita, and the service was pretty good. The ceviche was a bit ho-hum - but in hindsight this is the sort of place where you should stick to things like fajitas and leave the ceviche for other venues.

We grabbed a 24 oz frozen margarita and found our seats - middle section, mid-way back. I loved the show, it was an awesome production and she really puts on a great performance - lots of amazing costumes, dancers, sets and special effects - plus the music is fun and catchy and she definitely does sign live and isn't lip-syncing the entire time.

She came on stage at 9: There was one funny incident during the show. Lo was encouraging people to jump up and dance etc at key points in the big songs - but with seats near the back we were generally sitting down for the most part there was standing admission at the front of the theatre if you wanted to be dancing through the entire show. Security and police rush in and break it all up, but at one point it looked like it could turn into a big brawl!

Quick stop off at our room, and someone has stolen our Do Not Disturb sign. The main reason we want to have it on at night is so we are not waken the next morning: Here is my makeshift sign - I do take photos of random things: We find a blackjack table in the Bond section with a fun dealer, Anna, and ended up staying there for a reasonable period of time. Great drink service and we had some good wins.

Awesome service but somewhat dangerous! We went to bed as the sun was rising - I love a Vegas sunrise - having finished off a fourth fun-filled night.

Leaving the room I see our homemade Do Not Disturb sign has also been stolen!! I make another one quite industrious of mr given my head is throbbing and head off.

Some greasy cheeseburgers and fries later, washed down with Gatorade, and we feel a bit less hungover but still super exhausted after a lack of decent sleep. I wake hubby and he is equally bemused, and we both feel a bit guilty for spending pretty much the whole day in bed!

On the upside we are feeling much better so decide to kick on with our day, which is checking out my favourite designer shoe brand Christian Louboutin. Anyway, we walked over to Crystals and had a look around the Louboutin store. And yes, all my girlfriends have shot me down for foregoing a new pair when my husband was really keen to buy one!

It was fairly quiet so maybe that explains it but we really enjoyed eating there - nice decor, delicious food, and super quick and friendly service. We skipped appetisers by the time we had munched on the bread and focaccia with the lovely olive oil with balsamic vinegar we are half-full and we just ordered pasta. I had the tagliatelle bolognese with wild boar and nduja and hubby had the cavatelli with sausage and porcini mushrooms.

Both were delicious and washed down with Sangiovese wine. So quick as well, and reasonably priced. After some drinks in the room we headed down for blackjack and found the dealer who had turned our luck around the first night our dealer friend of the last four years. We then decide it might be time for more three-card poker, and found a table with a fun dealer named Gio. He was very entertaining and we had many good laughs, and many good drinks.

We wandered up to the room, made a final drink and sat chatting on the balcony. Again, the drinks and lure of the tables got the better of us, and next thing we know we had talked each other into having one more crack!

So back downstairs, firstly trying a few different various slots with no luck, and then back to the three card table with Gio. Actually the lesson was not learnt, as future evenings will demonstrate, but Vegas does that to you!

We really decided to call it a night this time, and at least managed to get to bed before 4am this time: We ordered the Original and the Italian. Both were pretty delicious sandwiches. Good but smaller than I had expected and not worth all the hype - but yes very tasty. I always mean to bring some string but never remember at the time of packing. First up was Aria. I really like Aria and its Casino floor, it has a great vibe.

If we ever grew tired of Cosmo and the amazing terraces then Aria would be on my short list of places to stay. Next up was Monte Carlo. Not feeling Monte Carlo all that much we decided to move on. We walked through the Park area and were pretty underwhelmed. It was hot and sunny so not a pleasant day to sit outside, but the area was deserted and felt a bit lack-lustre and barren.

I told hubby I thought in the evenings it would probably pick up and be a cool spot, but wasn't doing anything for us at that point. The Arena looked like a great venue though - if we ever wanted to see a performer there. I felt like a true tourist oohing and ahhhhing as we strolled through. And this despite having been in this casino probably half a dozen times: I wanted to really do the whole Vegas tourist casino crawl thing by getting a novelty yard glass with a frozen cocktail from Fat Tuesday.

Such a reminiscent thing for me from our first Vegas vacation - the walking the strip with a frozen cocktail thing! We then played a few slots while enjoying our drinks in MGM. Then we played Crystal Forest. We decided to wander back up the strip on the east side of the road the MGM side , and did it sipping the last of our drinks.

The combination of the late afternoon time and all that alcohol had made us peckish, so we stopped in and shared a burger and fries. This fuelled our walk back up the strip, quick stop at Walgreens then back to the room.

Was the perfect dinner that evening and I loved every morsel. We were still fairly full from the burger so there was a slice leftover again a plus side of having a fridge in your room - nothing goes to waste! A few more drinks and by this time we were ready to hit the tables.

It was pretty late at this stage and this is where this night gets rather hazy! Needless to say too many drinks were consumed - including a number of espresso martinis yum! Sat June 10 - Daniel Tosh stand-up show, casino crawl part 2, and pizza, hot dogs and drinks again! Up at midday and stagger over to get nuggets, burgers and coffees, wash down with some gatorade, and relax a little in the room to try to feel semi-human again. First stop at the bar at the entrance to Miracle Mile to top up our yard glass - another frozen concoction, this time just one extra shot not the double extra!

We play a random slot machine in PH without much luck, then stroll up to the next stop, Paris. I love Paris casino in the same way I love NYNY - classic themed casino with the cobbled streets and cute buildings along the streetscape. After refreshing our drink we spent almost an hour shopping in Sketchers for various styles of sneakers, thongs, sandals etc - again, a brand we can get at home but for a much higher price and much older range.

By this time we were ready to head back - most of the second drink had been consumed and after finishing our purchase of four pairs of shoes we headed back through the Forum shops and via the casino.

This has by far been the most prosperous slots trip to date. He is totally inappropriate and nothing is off-limits - so you have to be pretty open-minded and his show is absolutely not for the easily offended. I found him hillarous, we loved his show and laughed out loud through most of it - I even had tears rolling down my cheeks at a number of stages. He has a few of his writers from the show do short sets throughout his show - I think he does about 5 sets with four of the writers doing slots in between.

The original plan had been to walk across to the Venetian that night after the show and eat at Yardbird another fave from last time , but by the time we left the theatre it was coming up to 9: So Uber back, yummy secret pizza enjoyed in our room with more red wine, and a few scotches on the balcony.

Remember how you used to play those wonderful old pinball machines years ago Want to be a kid again? Want to show your grandkids what it was like " in the old days " next time they visit? Then get in the car and take a ride over the next time you're looking to do something different It's a huge pinball complex where you can find many of the old favorites you once loved We both feel a wave of part-relief part-euphoria wash over us as we step in and finally - after some stressful moments that day - feel we have properly arrived for our Vegas vacation.

Feeling relaxed and properly fed, we explored the new additions in the area and wandered for a little bit, before grabbing a few bags full of beverages and snacks from Walgreens to take back to the room. Given we were staying for a bit over a week, I fully unpacked and we settled in to the suite. A nice surprise whilst unpacking was a knock on the door - I peaked through the peephole and a suited-up manager was there with a small wrapped parcel.

It was a hand-written card from the front desk person who had made the room error, and a box of gourmet chocolates. Lovely when a service glitch turns into a positive experience. One of my favourite things on vacation is being able to get ready in a very leisurely fashion - having a relaxing shower, throwing on a soft hotel robe and comfy slippers, pouring a glass of champagne, and take my time getting ready while relaxing.

And I love sitting out on the balcony, watching the sunset, seeing the lights come on, watching the Bellagio fountains dance, sipping bubbles in my comfy robe with not a care in the world - the opposite to normal life. So this is just what we did: Having had a late lunch we were in no rush for dinner, so we spent some time relaxing and soaking up the Vegas atmosphere, and of course enjoying some drinks. For dinner that night we decided to try one of the new restaurants at Cosmo.

Over the last few months Cosmo had been reviewing and renewing their restaurant collection, and they had recently opened zuma, a new modern Japanese restaurant. We arrived and sat at the bar while we waited for our table. We asked the bartender to recommend a bottle of Sake. The sushi and sashimi were excellent, and we also enjoyed gyoza dumplings, beef tataki, and a variety of skewers the scallops were particularly excellent. And of course the mL bottle of sake: But by now it had been several hours in Vegas with no gambling, the night was getting pretty late, and so it was time to hit the casino floor!

First stop one of our favourite slot machines, Crystal Forest. And playing one hand typically makes the bankroll stretch further: And she manages to change our luck!

It looks like a black stain or black shadow - about the size of a coaster or a playing card I suppose - on the ceiling of the balcony.

But kind of animal-shaped and rounded. Anyway, turns out he was right - some zoomed flash iPhone photography and it definitely looks like a bat. I name him Mr Bat aka Batty McBatface and feel slightly nervous having him perched above me, but grow fond of him fairly quickly. Here he is - not a great pic but anyway… …photobucket. Anyway, we leave Batty McBatface to pursue a yet again another late start to the night of gambling!

We were up and down a bit, playing with a group of young guys and girls including one guy that kept doing crazy things like doubling on a 12…! We played for a reasonable amount of time, enjoying some more drinks, and walked away after a while around even. Tomorrow we must look in to extending!!! We are feeling tired and not great yes, ok, hungover and hubby reminds me of the conversation the night before on extending our stay. So I call the front desk and ask how much an extra night would be.

Finally I get her back on the line and she apologises for the wait - she had called some other area casino services? This was all very new to us - what the?? Apparently our only option was to go down and speak to a host ourselves. So we checked out flights - as predicted it was waaaaay too expensive to change our LAX to Australia flight, but we could forego our extra stopover night in LA and move our LAS to LAX flight back a day at a reasonable enough cost… so it actually seemed like this could happen!!

We walked into the high roller area and after asking a guy suited-up, who I assume was a pit-boss we were pointed to a small corner office with a lady who was a casino host. She was great and it was all pretty easy in the end - she looked us up and made one call then happily comped an extra night including resort fees and taxes and we were on our way. I never would have supposed that could happen, so was a lovely surprise.

working office environment, everybody

Given how much extra we would have paid had we booked this upfront this was a good deal. As well as the extra space of the suite, we love having a second bathroom and especially a full kitchen and proper fridge. They had a room ready so we headed right on up, luggage in tow. Quick phone call to the front desk and quickly resolved, and we hung out in the room for about another 40 mins waiting for the keys to the new room so be sent up.

Room on 28th floor right near the elevators - and yes it is a suite! We both feel a wave of part-relief part-euphoria wash over us as we step in and finally - after some stressful moments that day - feel we have properly arrived for our Vegas vacation.

We then wandered up to Fashion Show mall. It was probably the hottest day of our trip at around degrees, so a very warm walk in the beaming afternoon sun.

I took a few pics and then we head over to the restaurant for my most anticipated meal. Back to Cosmo along the overhead bridge from Crystal Mall and in our slightly tipsy state from the large carafe of Sangria we giggle at the funny quotes on the Cosmo neon signs.
